Privacy Policy

Élan Human provides deep personality and behavioural assessment for hiring, executive appointments and founding-team investment. The service is delivered by João Franqueira, who acts as the data controller for the information described here. When you send an enquiry or book a call, we hold the contact and organisation information you provide, and whatever context you choose to give us about the position being decided. We use it to reply to you, scope the engagement, deliver the brief and keep our own records of work performed.

The lawful bases are performance of a contract (delivering an engagement you asked for) and legitimate interest (responding to an enquiry about our service).

The agreed assessment may involve a candidate, executive, manager, colleagues or founders. Personality and behavioural assessment, work experiences and checks against work examples and feedback inform the analysis. From this we hold session notes and any recording or transcript made with explicit consent, the candidate's career history as they describe it, reference conversation notes, and the written analysis produced for the client.

No candidate is assessed without knowing what is happening and consenting to it first. Consent is asked for before the session begins and can be withdrawn at any point, including after the session. A candidate can ask what was examined and why.

We collect only what the engagement requires. We do not run background investigations, credit checks or criminal record checks, we do not scrape private accounts, and we do not seek health, political, religious, sexual orientation or trade union information. If a candidate volunteers information of that kind, it is excluded from the analysis.

Recordings and transcripts, where they exist, are working material. They are stored in access-controlled systems, are never shared with the client, and are deleted once the brief is written and the debrief has taken place, unless the candidate asks us to keep or delete them sooner.

Deep personality and behavioural assessment is supported by Alma and synthesised through MindFrame. AI-assisted assessment, feedback analysis and synthesis support the work; João Franqueira examines the evidence and remains responsible for the interpretation. The resulting briefing supports a human decision. It is not a clinical assessment, a diagnosis or an automated hiring or investment decision.

The brief goes only to the people the client names before the engagement starts. We do not publish client names, candidate names, or engagement details. We do not sell data or share it for advertising.

Service providers who process data on our behalf include hosting and database infrastructure, email delivery, calendar scheduling, transcription and website analytics. Each is bound by a processing agreement and may use the data only to provide their service to us.

Client enquiry and engagement records are kept for 12 months after the engagement closes unless a longer period is required for accounting or legal reasons. Candidate working material is deleted after the debrief. The final brief is kept for 12 months, then deleted, unless the client or candidate asks us to remove it earlier.

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, withdraw consent, and ask for your data in a portable format. Candidates have exactly the same rights as clients.

Site-configured Google Analytics is disabled and its loading script has been removed. The assessment and enquiry functions do not depend on it. This statement does not describe scripts that the hosting platform may inject.

Data is held in access-controlled, encrypted systems, and access is limited to the analyst performing the work. This policy may change as the service develops; the version in force is always the one published on this page.
